Abstract:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be used to measure brain structure and function in numerous ways. This talk will present some of the software packages that served as a basis for my talk ‘Education as brain training’ during the Summerfest; but don’t worry, the former talk is no prerequisite for this one. I will highlight how neuroimaging using MRI can be used to study brain change during learning. The talk will feature white matter analysis using FSL (TBSS, Probtrackx), grey matter structure using FreeSurfer (Cortical and Subcortical) and how functional neuroimaging analysis can be enhanced by using Machine learning (Multi Voxel Pattern Analysis: MVPA).
